changing like the tides

Welcome to my website! I’m so glad you’re here.

For those who have been around for a long time, I have changed so many times in the past ten years. I was making and selling art at local markets, and had an online shop of art and pottery, and now I am here. I’m not entirely sure where “here” is, but as life flows around me, I too I am going with the flow of what feels good to create.

I have moved homes, went back to school and graduated with an environmental studies degree. I don’t have a home art studio in the way I have in the past, and so I am finding ways to feed my creative energy, which brings me to my fiber arts era. I have been knitting for the past four years with my friend Kim, who inspired me to get back into it, and showed me patterns for garments that I never thought I would be able to make. I was so surprised to find that it just felt so natural. My grandma had taught me to knit when I was young, but patterns have changed a lot since then, and now I’m knitting sweaters, nerding-out about yarn, and living my best life.

I started a youtube channel, where I’ve been posting vlog-style videos of the projects I’m making and various little slices of life. I really enjoy making videos, and sharing in this way about what I’m working on. I am still learning, but I think that’s what makes me feel so good about posting these videos- I know there’s someone out there like me, who may not be on the level of some fibers influencers, and want to feel like there’s a space for mistakes, learning together, and not judging ourselves.

This new chapter of my life is also reflected in the way I’ve updated my website. I understand that I may lose some folks because of my lack of visual arts, and transition into various mediums, but I’m really grateful to anyone who decides to stick by my side, and see what I’m working on!
